let’s be an artist
As I crossed the railroad deeper into the ninth, coming from the open mic at Flora’s, where the power had gone out (thank you Entergy), I was wondering if my lights were also out.
“Lights off” my neighbor said as I walked up, and instead of explaining that I had a feeling because I was in the neighborhood, I responded with a simple “Oh, are you serious?” Sometimes not explaining that you already knew can be more friendly.
I had the most beautiful evening at Flora’s though. I was incredibly nervous to play, and then the power went out which was perfect so no one had to see me. It was a beautiful acoustic night of acoustic music, and I finally got to perform a couple of my originals.
This power outage has me in my feels. I am alone in my house, but not lonely. It’s beautiful, mysterious, and full of potential. I feel the same.
Okay, let’s be an artist.
